Vackertass is Swedish for "beautiful paw." Annelie Rosencrantz founded Vackertass Supply Co in 2016 in Walthamstow, East London, after encountering a problem every design-conscious dog owner eventually hits: there were almost no dog accessories that looked good in an actual home. The market was full of neon nylon and fussy patterns. What Annelie wanted — and could not find — was something minimal, considered, and made from materials worth owning. So she made it herself, in her studio, by hand.

The Vackertass aesthetic is rooted in Scandinavian minimalism: clean lines, natural materials, and a quiet confidence that the object does not need to shout to be noticed. Collars and leads are handmade from full grain vegetable-tanned leather with solid brass hardware — the leather develops a patina with use, improving rather than wearing out. Dog beds, including the bestselling Fort, are made in a 70% wool, 30% polyester blend that regulates body temperature year-round. Waste bag holders are cut from collar and bed offcuts to reduce waste further. Everything is made in small batches or to order. Packaging is recyclable or made from recycled materials. The brand has stockists in the UK, Denmark, Belgium and Japan — an international following that found exactly what Annelie set out to make.
