Pykok was founded in 2015 by Aistė Kniežauskė in Kaunas, Lithuania — a designer with a very clear point of view and the craft skills to back it up. The brand's own description of itself is "brutal elegance", which is two words doing more work than most brand statements manage in a paragraph: the pieces are bold, minimal, edgy without being theatrical, and made from leather with the kind of attention to detail that comes from a one-person operation where every piece is Aistė's direct responsibility. Bags, belts, bracelets, harnesses, neck accessories and other leather goods — each one carefully constructed, each one a reflection of a specific and uncompromising aesthetic that sits well outside the mainstream fashion market.
