Adult Snowsuits, Because Nobody Else Was Making Any.

Nuckö is a small Estonian outerwear brand built around an unusual product category — adult snowsuits and softshell overalls — by two women living among the forests and fields of Noarootsi, a rural peninsula in Western Estonia whose Swedish historical name, Nuckö, the brand carries forward as its own. The origin story is the practical one: the founders went looking for proper adult-sized snowsuits — of the kind a parent might want for an afternoon outside with small children in deep winter — and discovered that the consumer market didn't really make them. (Industrial workwear, fishing kit, and expedition gear, yes; adult-sized everyday snowsuits, no.) So they started making them. The category they've effectively built is now the brand: weather-resistant softshell overalls in single-piece coverall cuts, designed to fit adults rather than scaled up from children's gear, and finished with the kind of bold digital-print patterns that turn a piece of technical outdoor kit into something a wearer would actively want to be seen in.

The technical specifications hold up to proper outdoor scrutiny: a 10,000mm waterproof rating, 5,000 g/m²/day breathability, a 94% polyester / 6% polyamide softshell outer, an adjustable hood and waist, and digital-printed patterns designed to survive abrasion and flex without fading. Specific overalls include the Ringo, Kerttu, Susanna, Taniel, and Rünno, each made separately rather than mass-produced — and most pieces are made to order rather than held in inventory, with a lead time of one to four weeks from purchase. The made-to-order model is a real sustainability position rather than a marketing one: it eliminates overproduction almost entirely, which is the single biggest environmental issue in the outerwear category. Use cases are correspondingly broad — winter walks with small children, weekend hikes, fishing, cross-country skiing, and the slightly underrated category of being properly warm at a Christmas market without resorting to seven layers.
