Ethical Bedding is a UK award-winning sustainable-bedding brand founded by James Higgins, designed in London, and operating as a Certified B Corporation — meaning the company is independently verified by B Lab across governance, workers, community, environment and customer impact, against globally rigorous standards that only a tiny fraction of UK businesses meet. The brand is built around a single load-bearing thesis: that natural-fibre bedding can outperform conventional cotton on every measurable axis (softness, breathability, temperature regulation, hygiene, environmental footprint) when the right fibre is matched to the right finish. The hero material is eucalyptus silk — TENCEL™ Lyocell fibre derived from eucalyptus tree pulp, woven in a 300-thread-count single-ply satin weave that genuinely rivals silk for cool-to-the-touch softness without any of the welfare or production complications. Higgins took the brand to Dragons' Den (where the planet-friendly thesis impressed the panel) and has since built it into one of the more credible names in the sustainable-sleep category, with strong reviews from Woman & Home and the wider home-press for the eucalyptus silk sheet set in particular.

The eucalyptus sustainability case is genuinely substantive: 95% less water than cotton, zero pesticides or herbicides (compared with the roughly 2,000 toxic chemicals used in conventional cotton production), trees harvested rather than uprooted (so they grow back quickly), grown on land unsuitable for food agriculture, and processed in a closed-loop system that recovers and reuses 99% of water and solvents. Every Ethical Bedding piece is OEKO-TEX certified, hypoallergenic, naturally antibacterial, finished with plant-based dyes, vegan, and shipped in recyclable minimalist packaging with full carbon-offset delivery.
